Amy was born and raised in the St. Matthews area of Louisville. Her parents are lifelong members of Southeast Christian Church Blankenbaker, where Amy grew up attending services. She attended the Christian Academy of Louisville from kindergarten through 12th grade and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Kentucky University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Amy works in the energy sector and enjoys reading, farm life, and spending time with her three dogs, Dublin, Belfast, and Abbey. At church, she focuses on women’s ministry and assists with technology during services, but her true calling is working with children. Amy and her husband, Pastor McBride, foster five children. Although Pastor McBride helps when he can, most of the daily childcare responsibilities fall to Amy, as four of the children are young girls. To say the least, Amy is a very busy woman. Amy continues to help support her husbands ministry as well as be a loving parent to two adult children and 5 foster children. Amy is a blessing.
